Greeting friends! how do you like the new look of the newsletter. It is still a work in progress it could change in the following weeks as of now, I’m happy with it.
Last week I talked about rebranding or changing the brand to a more structured newsletter where there are sections where I will talk specific topics.
Today, I have plans on what to talk about in the following weeks I just need to keep posting consistently. As I was writing down this issue, I thought of adding a new section (which you will see at the near end of the issue) and I hope you enjoy the new (but different) rain newsletter.
sincerely,
Dan
Yes you read that right, I love photography. For as long as I can remember I enjoy capturing moments and memories, and I loved it. I even love the process of taking the photo and editing all the way to uploading or printing them. Over the years, I learned a lot about photography and myself in the process. There was a not a day goes by that I would photograph everything. As much as I love photography there was only one thing that I feel like it’s putting a strain on me (literally) is bringing a DSLR camera.
Now I didn’t always hated bringing a camera because of back when I started getting into photography, the idea of bringing a camera kind of makes you a photographer and I loved that, it wasn’t until a few years later that I start to realize that I despise it. So much so that sometimes I consider not bringing my camera when traveling to places or events, in some cases I wouldn’t even bring my camera out of the bag. It sucks because I love photography but bringing a camera is such a drag.
Bringing a camera is heavy in the long run, it puts a strain in your body but it is not the main reason why I don’t like bringing a camera. I think what I hate about it stems from the fact that carrying a camera, capturing moments pulls me away from enjoying the moment. I know it’s very ironic that a photographer who loves capturing the special moments can’t really feel and enjoy the moment.
I think that I am just a little bitter that I feel obligated to be the one to capture the moment instead of being in the moment. I realize now that sometimes enjoying the moment is better than capturing the moment and that’s an important lesson that I learned and just because you have a camera doesn’t give you the obligation to be the photographer for everyone so enjoy YOUR moment don’t worry about what other people might think and capture moments for your camera and for your memories.
Tears of the Kingdom
I know I am a little late of the game review and that’s only because I spent almost 120 hours of this game and I am no where near finishing the game. The map is huge, there are many side quests, and so much more to explore. The crazy thing about this game is that you don’t need to play the first game (Breath of the Wild) to fully enjoy the game, playing the previous game helps and gives you an advantage but tears of the kingdom can stand on its own. The story of Tears of the Kingdom is just an absolute masterclass of writing. I don’t want to say too much for spoiler reasons but I’ll just say that they did not hold back.
There are many new things that Tears of the Kingdom offers such as the new ability to fuse objects to your weapon to increase durability and attack power. One of the feature that I really enjoy in the game is that it has a sandbox type feature where you can build almost anything with the resources inside the game. With this feature, your creativity is just out of this world, man when I tell you that this is flexible I mean it is insane just check out these players from the subreddit r/hylianengineering
Not only it is sandbox/action-adventure RPG game, it is also a physics base game so it can simulate real physics in the game. This means with the right resources in the game and a little creativity and engineering you can literally make an actual working mech within your control. Lastly, it is not a Zelda game without its Temple and puzzles. The puzzles in these games are fun and engaging but the best part is that you can solve the puzzles the correct way or the many different and unorthodox way. That’s right the game developers gave so much flexibility that you can almost do anything to solve any puzzle in any way possible
I swear I am having so much time playing this game. It fleshes out the lore in the world of Hyrule and I am confident that this game would win game of the year 2023 just like it did when Breath of the Wild won game of the year back in 2017. I highly recommend checking this game out because you will have hours filled with entertainment, if you are not a TLOZ fan this game will surely make you one.
Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo
I know that I said I hate bringing a camera but this one I would carry everywhere (if I can). This is the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo, It is a hybrid digital instant film camera that it does (so far in my experience) everything. It takes digital photos and allows the user to apply filters and lens effect to the photos and the best part of this camera is that it allows you to select the photos you can print.
This camera is a must-have for those who loves to get into photography or even is already in the photography business. I love how small and compact it is and that it doesn’t take that much weight. I really enjoy using this camera because you can immediately transfer photos from the camera to the phone using an app and with this app you can control the camera remotely with your phone.
This camera is very convenient to carry and it takes very beautiful photos. I took this camera to my graduation ball a few months ago and it really gives a vintage film look and it looks really good. I love this camera so much and I recommend this camera to those who are getting into photography or even to photography enthusiasts.
In this segment of the newsletter, I thought I’d share some photos and their stories, It could be my photos or other people’s photos. If you have photos that have stories behind them that you would like to share, feel free to share them.
I took this photo back when I was in Hong Kong a few months ago and as I was walking around the streets of Mong Kok I saw a bunch of people gathering in one spot. Then I saw this drummer, this drummer is actually a street performer raising money to buy himself a set of drums. The man played really good it’s shame that I was not able to capture it on tape but the man passionately played drums on a street corner, surrounded by a diverse crowd of captivated onlookers. His drum kit although just buckets is illuminated by the warm glow of streetlights.
Wow that was a long issue to write. It might take a few months to get use to writing a longer newsletter. How do you guys like the new look? Did you enjoy the newsletter? Because I certainly enjoy making them but of course there are always room for improvement and I want you guys to let me know how to improve the newsletter. Should I add a new segment to the newsletter, should I talk about deeper topics to talk about. Email me HERE for your suggestions. Thank you for sticking around and have great day
Sincerely
Dan
